Welcome to my apiary. 

For those who don't know or have not made the connection, an apiary is a place where bees and beehives are kept and typically for the collection of their excess honey.

Yerfdog's Apiary began in the spring of 2008 with one hive.  They say you are suppose to start with two but I only wanted one.  Well the forces of nature came calling and three weeks into my beekeeping experience I got the chance to catch a swarm.  I was now the proud owner of a second hive which in all reality was just half of my first hive naturally split by the bees themselves.  The apiary has slowly expanded to four hives with a few nucs scattered in the yard at any one time.  The apiary has so far been antibiotic and miticide free in the treatment of the bees and although I have lost a few hives to the mites throughout the years, I continue to promote bee strength through survivor stock.
